National Audit Office warns of school funding gap

The NAO says that by 2019-2020 state schools may face a budget deficit of £3bn.  Heads are already saying that staff numbers may have to be reduced to make ends meet.

So which costs can be better managed?

The majority of state schools use group purchasing schemes for their energy and do not actively benchmark pricing prior to acceptance.  We do not guarantee savings, but our experience tells us that by exploiting puchasing power at an individual school level savings opportunities are often available. With a no win no fee approach, schools have nothing to lose by engaging a consultant such as ESS.
